THEATRE DIRECTOR & PRODUCER

Stephen M. Miranda

MENTORS

Paul Mason Barnes | Doug Scholz-Carlson | David Rainey | Susan Shaughnessy | Judith Midyett Pender

Born and raised in Houston, TX - Stephen has recently returned as the Interim General Manager of The Landing Theatre Company (LTC)

Stephen's diverse body of work has been seen on stages across the country, both as a director and a producer. Driven by a passion for opening the theatrical landscape to people of all backgrounds, he has provided a voice for Latinx artists as a burgeoning Arts Leader in administrative positions with the Great River Shakespeare Festival (Winona, MN), Straight From New York (NYC based), the Namron Players Theatre (Norman, OK), and a previous marketing position with The Landing Theatre Company (Houston, TX).

The next chapter for Stephen is still developing. In his position as acting General Manager of LTC, the focus has shifted to fostering the work of the next generation of American playwrights and finding a place for Latinx artists in that mix. It is an exciting time to be a young Arts Leader in a city with an evolving arts scene.

"Houston has always been home, and I am endeavored to be an effective part of its theatrical revolution." - SM

BROADWAY WORLD - THE REDEMPTION SERIES

"We had to do something to help the greater American community come together. We wanted to do our part to help find ways to move forward as a nation. So we put out a call to playwrights and asked for just that. Within less than a month we received over 120 submissions from around the country, picked twelve, and got to work" - interview with Alexander Garza, 9/21/16
